MANNFORD PTO Meeting Minutes  -  9/18/14

• Minutes from the August meeting were reviewed.
• Treasurer’s report was reviewed and approved.
• Carrie Gustafson gave an update on the fundraiser with Kindred Spirits Photography.  Advertisement cards should go home with students within a week.  She has started booking sessions.
• This year’s homecoming parade theme is ‘Battle of the Ages”.  After the meeting Angie Macias spearheaded the PTO float project.
• Kayla Miller volunteered to select the movies for movie night.
• Patti Nelson will chair the committee for the first ‘Fright Night’ on Halloween.  Please see Patti if you would like to help.

• Kindra Caruthers, chairman of the scholarship run committee announced the 2015 Scholarship Run will be a Color Run on March 28th.  If you would like to be on this committee, please see Kindra.
• T-shirt order forms have been delivered to the schools but contact info failed to print on the forms.  New forms will be sent out.  Shirts will also be sold at ball games.  Discussed possibility of ordering different shirts or caps in the spring.  Lori White will price caps.
• New Business
• Carrie Gustafson suggested having a fundraiser similar to Anderson Elementary’s “Pennies for Pizza” campaign where the children donated change and classes competed for a pizza party.  More discussion is needed along with school administration approval.
• Discussed having an ‘End of School Bash’ next May.   Possibly an outdoor/water balloon activity.  More discussion needed.
• Nurse Jill has requested $300 for educational material.  She will be asked to attend the next meeting to provide more info.
• The Lower Elementary has requested various balls for recess activity.  Before purchasing, Patti Nelson will check with the Upper Elementary to see if they also are in need.
• Traci McKnight will make signs for the new PTO canopy.  Patti Nelson will provide dimensions.
• Kindra Caruthers suggested selling license plates but the High School is already doing this.
• Kindra Caruthers suggested renovating a teacher’s lounge each year by asking for community involvement to offset the cost.  More discussion is needed.
• October 3rd, from 3:30 to 6pm the Lower Elementary will have a carnival.  Dawn Rice will coordinate the PTO booth, volunteers and candy donation.
