Meeting Minutes  -  Dec 18, 2014

 The meeting was called to order by Kindra Caruthers

 Handouts:  Agenda & Treasurer’s Report

 Minutes from the November meeting were reviewed.

 The Treasurer’s report was reviewed and approved..

OLD BUSINESS

 Shirt Sales Update:  Patti Nelson - Volunteers are needed to sell shirts at HS Basketball games and Wrestling matches.

 Discussed the possibility of having the Kindred Spirits Fundraiser again in 2015.  It was determined that this fundraiser violated the PTO bi-laws which do not allow a PTO member to profit from any PTO fundraiser.

 Scholarship Run – Kindra Caruthers – Committee will meet in January.  Please contact Kindra if you would like to help.

 End of School Bash – Lori White – No update

 Upper Elementary Playground Project –  Patti Nelson and Traci 

McKnight met with Upper Elementary Principal Ryan Norman.  An upcoming school bond issue might change the scope of the project.  The bond issue should be determined this summer.  However, Mr. Norman has committed to providing a list of playground safety issues that need to be addressed.  Follow-up for February meeting.

 Back-to-School Supplies project – Traci McKnight.  No Update.

 Pirate Chest Update –  Angie Macias.  In the November meeting, the PTO decided to send out a notice informing all teachers we will advertise their club, organization or fundraiser on the PTO website.  Follow-up with Angie.  

 School Dances – Patti Nelson will contact the schools to see if anyone is having a Valentines Dance.  Suggested “Dads & Dolls Dance” for Feb. 13th.   Form committee at January Meeting. Previous meeting suggestion – “Moms & Monsters Dance” for early October 2015.

 Teachers Lounge Upgrade – Traci & Patti will contact the schools requesting a list of improvements for each teachers lounge.  

NEW BUSINESS

 PTO Committee Contact List – Traci McKnight will create a list for January meeting.

 Food Truck Night Fundraiser was suggested by Jenifer Maxville, possibly having it the same evening as the watermelon feed this August.  A Committee Chairman needs to be assigned.

 McDonald’s PTO Night – Kindra Caruthers will contact McDonalds to see if they are interested in having a PTO Night (possibly monthly) donating a percentage of their profits to the PTO.
